Developers often improve communities through economic development and revitalization. However, there are instances in which a developer ignores their responsibility to the land and the people that depend on it. As future developers, we are tasked with creating clean, efficient, and sustainable developments.
This can be achieved through various means at different stages of the development process. From Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) during construction to achieving LEED Status, and everything in between
During the program, the class was tasked with designing a neighborhood near Navasota, TX. My group emphasized maintaining green space and managing a trail system within the community - effectively “amenitizing” the natural resources of the site.
